Nowadays, the configurations in almost all places are in JSON format and can be used directly by pasting. However, for you, Codex, the configuration process is extremely troublesome. The configuration needs to be converted by oneself, and it's not known whether the configuration is generated. There is no interactive experience at all!!

Agree with OP. Can't connect to Figma Dev Mode MCP server with Codex's config.toml for MCPs.
Yeah having this be the odd man out with toml.... its annoying - especially without context as to why its using this instead of json.
Would love to see it be able to consume json mcp configs.
