This issue also occurs in the VS Code extension.
This bug has been around in Windows since day one. Full access appears to get around it now, but that's still not great since it means it has, well, full access.
Yes I know. But a moderator closed my previous issue whereas this bug is still there and it's the most annoying thing in this tool.
I used the
--yolomode, until it removed all my files in the wrong folder.Yep, it's really frustrating. It single-handedly makes efficiently using Codex in Windows nearly impossible and pushed me to switch over to a Claude subscription for the time being. Plenty of feature updates, but nothing to address this core workflow issue.
Same is happening for macOS now...
I realized that I was in Chat mode when being constantly asked to approve changes (which makes sense). When I switched to Agent mode, it stopped asking.
Not only in Windows, I'm getting the same issue with VS Code extension in MacOS Tahoe.
Same on Linux with Codex as VS Code extension.
