It seems I’ve found the cause.

On Ubuntu, I had exactly the same issue — sometimes it would send 100 prompts at once, each separately.
I encountered the same issue about input field leak you mentioned, sometimes I found characters like "[0" occured in the input field for no reason.
Closing in favor of #2137
