What steps can reproduce the bug?

Clicking inside Codex CLI to write a prompt, but it's probably something platform specific. It might be the combination of VSCode terminal + Remote SSH + Ubuntu or similar. Codex CLI is running remotely on an Ubuntu server, connected to using Microsoft Remote SSH in VSCode.
