What issue are you seeing?
Codex had difficulty applying a patch, so it overwrote the locally changed file with the last commit's version WITHOUT asking first. All local changes were gone, no backup, nothing. Lost a full day's worth of work.
What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?
Should never just overwrite a local file completely w/o backup or consent.
