Terminal Scrolling and Mouse copy text stopped working
What version of Codex is running?
codex-cli 0.55.0
What subscription do you have?
Pro
Which model were you using?
gpt-5-codex
What platform is your computer?
Windows 10 Pro ssh to Ubuntu 24.04
What issue are you seeing?
Since yesterday I can no longer scroll through conversation in the terminal window NOR can I select text from the conversation using the mouse. I have restarted Codex CLI and also reboot the remote host computer (Ubuntu 24.04). I connect via ssh using Bitvise on my Windows PC using the built-in Bitvise terminals. NOTE: Scrolling and mouse text selection continue to work in all other terminals to the host machine including Gemini CLI and Claude Code terms. Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Not sure what to put here. It repeats for me everytime I open the codex in the ssh terminal.
What is the expected behavior?
Previously I was able to scroll back in Codex CLI terminal conversations to see past response and text. ALso, I could click in the terminal with the mouse and select text to copy. It no longer responds.

Thanks for the bug report. I'm not aware of any changes that we made in 0.55.0 that would affect this behavior, but perhaps there was a change I missed — or a seemingly-unrelated change had a bad side effect.
To help narrow this down, could you confirm that if you downgrade to the previous version that the problem no longer occurs? I just want to make sure that it's an actual regression versus some configuration change on your system.
Sorry for the delay, I reverted to 0.53.0 and scrolling and mouse selection worked. I tested upgrading back to 0.55.0 and scrolling and mouse selection still work. Must have been a glitch. Thanks for your time!
I just installed codex-cli 0.55.0 for the first time and I get this issue
@persei7, can you do the same thing I asked above? Does downgrading to 0.53.0 fix it? That will help inform whether this is a regression or some other config change.
the new .56 version fixes it
Still having this problem in new versions actually. In vscode the scroll function only activates once the window contents no longer fit. If you launch codex before the scroll function activates and the scroll bar already visible, scrolling is locked for the whole session. If you launch from a terminal that has scrolling active you are good.
I am just reading, not adding. Wait, I should use get_issue.
Still occures regularly on codex-cli 0.142.5
