Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened Nov 7, 2025 by WarpedEdge Closed Nov 16, 2025

What version of Codex is running?

0.5.36 and Pre-release tried

What subscription do you have?

Paid

gpt-5-codex high

Linux - Bazzite Fedora 43 KDE 6.4

What issue are you seeing?

<img width="598" height="630" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f1199d70-87c3-48b6-90a6-f4b6cd0b7039" />

When an image is uploaded to the chat, sometimes it will see the image as "broken" and when it does that no matter what I type in afterwards it provides the Failed message in the screenshot above.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Keep taking screenshots that are from clipboard and pasting.

What is the expected behavior?

Image could be viewed and conversation continues.

Additional information

While the issue is identified a good workaround would be allowing us to remove the previous message we posted from the message as it gets stuck on the broken image even though your next message does not include it. Essentially let us remove either the images attached from conversations or delete messages so it cannot recall it.
