model codex-mini-latest lags behind gpt-5-codex-mini

The model name codex-mini-latest suggest it should automatically update to the latest codex-mini model, but currently, the codex-mini-latest model is an old gpt4 based model, lagging behind the gpt5 based gpt-5-codex-mini.
Also, C++ codebase testing shows that the gpt-5-codex-mini model is much more capable than the current codex-mini-latest model.

codex-mini-latest and codex-latest are different models to the gpt-5-codex series of models. they were based on o3/o4-mini. Yes, you're right about them being old gpt-4 based models.
The names are confusing, but theyre actually not the same as the gpt-5-codex series.

codex-mini-latestthat it automatically updates to codex-5-mini, codex-5.1-mini, codex-6-mini, codex-7-mini, etc?No actually, codex and codex-mini are completely separate models to gpt-5-codex, gpt-5.1-codex etc.
