The VS Code Marketplace was a bit slow this morning, so it took a while for the updated version of the extension (0.4.44) to show up. It appears to be in the marketplace now. Please update to 0.4.44 (or the prerelease version 0.5.44), and you will have access to the new model.
Version 0.4.44 (and prerelease 0.5.44) are also now showing up in Open VSX.
