What issue are you seeing?

As said, it's been 4 minutes and Codex is just doing "ls" and "read". Nothing else, no words.

It's been like this ON EVERY PROJECT.

I uninstalled Codex, removed ~/.codex but always the same.

CODEX IS UNUSABLE. I always have to switch to Claude or Gemini.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Use codex.

What is the expected behavior?

To work.

I saw a similar issue that presented in the form of a git process using 100% CPU. It was happening because there were large files that should have been .gitignored and codex was running git status with every turn. Codex fixed the problem for me, you may also have luck if you ask it or another AI to diagnose the issue with this hint.

Thanks @cncwork the tip excluding more via .gitignore worked! Now no more high git cpu usage.
