What issue are you seeing?
For some reason it tells me "Thinking..." but nothing happens for atleast 15 minutes. Even the session logs at `C:\Users\%user%\.codex\sessions\2025\11\24` dont show any activity.
Sometimes its done but sometimes it got just half way through.
No idea if it happens on other models.
Happens on the cli and vscode ext
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Start a task
- Let it run for a while
- Eventually wont continue and being in the "thinking" state
What is the expected behavior?
Finish its work

facing the same on linux, on codex-cli
same in VSC. hangs forever on thinking. All Codex 5.1 seems to suffer from this, especially 5.1 Codex Max. Only way to fix is to kill VSC, then it does it again 10-20 actions later. If it actually is "thinking" it needs to be more detailed so we know it isn't actually hanging. I suspect it actually is hanging since it can go for over 10-15 minutes and can get past that step on VSC restart.
Same with me, it runs over night but no token cost.
