What issue are you seeing?
The Codex CLI weekly limit percentage keeps dropping even when I’m not using it. For example, it was at 89% remaining yesterday, and when I checked again later it had dropped to 74%, despite not running any Codex CLI commands in between. It also appears to continue decreasing by about 1% at a time while I’m idle / doing nothing, which makes it look like I’m consuming quota even when there is no activity.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Use Codex CLI normally until your weekly limit shows some remaining percentage (e.g. 80–90%).
- Stop using the CLI and do not run any Codex-related commands for a while (e.g. several hours or overnight).
- Open Codex CLI again or check the weekly limit indicator.
- Observe that the weekly limit percentage has decreased (e.g. from 89% to 74%) even though no new usage has occurred.

It's not a duplicated issue, since my weekly usage dropped without any usage unlike the other issues right after updating the codex cli to the latest version, also I noticed that the rate at which the usage drops is significantly faster than it was before the update.

Maybe related : I notice the code review feature (when you open a PR on GitHub) consume normal usage. Maybe check if you open some pr in that timeframe.

I just saw my weekly limit drop from 27% to 0% in the space of about 10 minutes, without ANY USAGE. I even did a "log out of all sessions" to ensure there were no other usages happening, which did refresh the auth.json to a new cookie. Yet the problem persisted. The (weekly limit % left) seemed to start dropping when I entered a partial prompt in Cursor (within the Codex extension), but without sending the prompt, and before I even got the chance to send a prompt, it told me I was out of credits!
