I hope to support reading skills from the .agent/skills/ directory, making it easier to configure and use.

This would be really nice. I have a side project that stores "memories" about the repo for codex and it would be nice to be able to make these memories "skills" since then codex would just read the top by lines of the memory and only read the actual memory when it thought it was relevant
Skills can be stored in project-local directories. For details, refer to this documentation.
