And of course it starts working the literal moment I sent out this request. Apologies.

Did you upgrade to Plus very recently, or have you been a Plus subscriber for a while? I'm wondering if there's a delay or short-lived cache somewhere in our backend systems.

Hello @etraut-openai

I upgraded to Plus a few minutes before encountering the issue. What threw me off was the /status command showing the correct account status.

etraut-openai contributor · 6 months ago

OK, thanks. That's a valuable clue.

I have the same issue, on my cursor, 3 month old subscription auto renewed. On a coder workspace. On my local repos it works.

etraut-openai contributor · 6 months ago

@leogiouldasis, is it now working for you? I suspect this is just a lag (perhaps an out-of-date cache) in our backend systems. If so, the problem should go away after a short period of time.

@etraut-openai
Same issue still.
Latest cursor (also checked vs-code) when working locally all good, as soon as i connect to my coder instance the message appears.
To use Codex with your ChatGPT plan, upgrade to Plus: https://openai.com/chatgpt/pricing.

@leogiouldasis, what do you mean by "coder instance" and "coder workspace"? Are you referring to to Codex web (https://chatgpt.com/codex)?

iamlasse · 6 months ago

I just got a plan with plus, and I am also getting this message. How long do I have to wait for the agent to work? The /status shows (plus) but I am still getting the message to upgrade....

leogiouldasis · 6 months ago

@etraut-openai I mean connect to a https://coder.com/ remote workspace through ssh on my cursor. This is when it happens for me.
If i work on a local repo(in my macbook) it works fine.

Same issue here, purchased a Plus plan but Codex still says "You've hit your usage limit, Upgrade Plus to continue using Codex"

MasterVols · 3 months ago

Hopefully this issue is not ignored. I'm seeing the exact same thing with the 'Plus' subscription on VSCode.

I have the same issue too. @chernushevich did you simply need to wait this out? If so, how long have you waited for this to kick in? may I assume about 30 minutes which is about the time you raise this here? :)

chernushevich · 2 months ago

@jovekuang don't remember exacly how long it took, but I'd say around 30 minutes is correct.

I am facing the same issue when I tried using gpt 5.6 and codex
