The Codex message limit banner continues to display in vscode / cursor after the quota has reset and usage is available again.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Use Codex until the message limit is reached in vscode / cursor
Wait until the quota reset time has passed
Resume Codex usage
What is the expected behavior?
The message limit banner should clear automatically in vscode / cursor once the quota resets.
Additional information
Codex functions normally despite the banner remaining visible. Refreshing the page does not remove the banner.

Thanks for the bug report.
Out of curiosity, was the banner still visible long after the quota reset — more than a minute? The reason I ask is that we have a 60-second TTL for that data. After that, the logic in the extension polls for an updated quota status and removes the banner if the quota time has reset. So I'm wondering if you would have waited a few more seconds that the banner would have gone away. It's also possible that there's a more fundamental bug here.
Thanks for the response, yes it was still visible after the quota reset. In fact it's still visible (more than a minute) in Cursor right now even though the quota reset and I can interact with codex at the moment.
