The IDE extension doesn't automatically handle multi-root workspaces. If you'd like to see that feature, please upvote https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/2909.
In the meantime, you can add
sandbox_workspace_write.writable_rootsto your config.toml file to manually add more writable roots. Refer to this documentation for details.
