What feature would you like to see?

A setting to enable CRLF program-wide for windows usage. All apply_patch use, application-wide consistent usage of CRLF instead of unix LF.

@etraut-openai Confirmed duplicate of #9914 — this is the same “CRLF setting” request already included in #9914’s expected behavior. Suggest closing #9915 as duplicate and tracking the CRLF-setting discussion in #9914.

This is a feature request. The other issue is a bug report.

I think it's unlikely that we'd add a dedicated setting for CRLF. I'd rather just fix the underlying problem. But we'll keep this open to see if it gathers upvotes. That's a useful signal even if we decide to address the problem differently than what's proposed here.

I have in my AGENTS.md files the following, and it's very rare does it actually do it

All files should be formatted in CRLF.
Don't add a trailing line to the end of a file.

But Visual Studio (not code) loves things to be in CRLF
